On a frigid January 18th, Stacey and Wayne stood hand in hand at their home church, surrounded by those who’ve loved and cheered them on across every season of life. While the air outside held a wintery bite, the warmth between them — and within that sacred space — was undeniable. Their love isn’t loud or flashy, but tender, intentional, and rooted deeply in faith.
These two have one of those stories that feels meant-to-be. Childhood friends turned soulmates — first crossing paths in school, then reconnecting years later through church. It’s one thing to fall in love; it’s another entirely to find your forever in someone who’s witnessed the many chapters that came before. Their connection feels timeless.
What struck me most throughout their day was how Christ-centered everything was. Before vows were exchanged and toasts were made, they worshipped together. They held space for gratitude, for reverence, for joy. And later, they continued that celebration surrounded by family and friends at The Wild Onion Brewery in Barrington — a cozy, intimate setting that felt perfectly “them.”
As a photographer, it’s an incredible honor to witness these moments — but this one held an extra layer of meaning. Stacey and I connected through school in our adolescent years, and to see her finding her person as an adult has been captivating. These little things always feels like a full circle moment, one that I’ll always hold close.
To Stacey and Wayne — thank you for allowing me to document this sacred chapter. Your love is steady, soulful, and soft in the very best way. I’m forever grateful to have walked beside you, camera in hand, as you stepped into forever.
