Some people just get each other—and Peggy and Bob are 100% those people. Their wedding day at Galt Airport in Northern Illinois was full of the kind of love and laughter that makes you feel lucky just to witness it. Add in a couple of sweet pups, a few planes taking off and landing in the background, and a ceremony that brought everyone into the moment? Absolute magic.
Bob, being a pilot, picked the perfect spot to get married—surrounded by the hum of hangars, the open sky, and just enough runway to make things interesting. Planes came and went throughout the day, which honestly just made it even cooler. Every time one lifted off in the distance, it felt like a little celebration.
Their ceremony was something special. In true Quaker tradition, it was quiet, intentional, and community-focused. No frills—just the two of them surrounded by people who love them. And when it came time to sign the paperwork? Everyone signed. Yep, every single guest added their name to their wedding certificate. It was like a giant group hug in writing.
Of course, Jake and Ellie—Peggy and Bob’s sweet pups—were right there in the middle of it all, soaking up the snuggles, stealing the spotlight (and maybe a few snacks), and making the day even better. If dogs could sign wedding papers, you know they would’ve. Biggest shout out to my favorite Dog wedding attendant Alana with Wags of Love for making sure these sweet babes got their spotlight!
The whole vibe was relaxed, real, and full of moments that’ll stick with everyone for a long time. Strangers became friends, happy tears were shared, and you couldn’t walk five feet without hearing a laugh. It wasn’t just a wedding—it was a celebration of everything that makes life good: love, connection, good dogs, and a whole lot of heart.
Peggy and Bob—thank you for letting me tag along for the ride. You two are solid, kind, and so dang fun. Here’s to many more takeoffs together.
