Listen… some weddings just hit different. Kalea and Sam’s December wedding at The Colonial at Sunset? Yeah, this one stuck with me in the best way. From the second I arrived, the energy was calm, joyful, and just really grounded—no stress, no chaos, just two people fully in love and ready to get married. It was one of those days where everything felt right.
I had the absolute honor of second shooting this gorgeous day for my wildly talented friend Courtney Winter, of Expedition Joy. Courtney brings all the magic to wedding days, and I was thrilled to tag along and do what I love most: document the little in-between moments while soaking in all the feels.
The Colonial at Sunset showed off in every way—true to its name, we were gifted with the dreamiest golden hour light. Like, the kind of light you wish you could bottle up for every wedding. Kalea and Sam looked like they walked straight out of a romance novel—effortless, sweet, and so dang in sync with each other. The entire day just flowed—with laughs, quiet moments, heartfelt vows, and the kind of love that feels really lived-in. The good stuff.
To Courtney—thank you for letting me tag along and make art with you. You’re a gem and a joy and truly so good at what you do. To Kalea and Sam—thanks for being so easy to love and so fun to photograph. Y’all are the real deal, and your day was a perfect reflection of that. And let’s take a second for this vendor team, because truly? Literal perfection. Every detail was beautifully executed, the day ran like a dream, and it was clear that each vendor showed up with intention and heart. It’s always a joy to work alongside people who care this deeply about making a couple’s day unforgettable.
