Sydney and Taylor’s Leadville, Colorado wedding at The Freight was one of those days that completely pivoted from the original plan, in the best possible way. The weekend was supposed to be chilly and overcast, but Leadville gave us nearly 80-degree temperatures, sunshine, and gorgeous mountain views all day long. Their morning started separately with private phone calls from their respective getting-ready locations before we headed out for an epic first look overlooking the lake at the base of Twin Peaks. We spent time with their families at Deception Point, taking in the views and documenting the people who traveled to celebrate with them.

Their ceremony was tucked into the meadows overlooking the mountain range. It was peaceful, intimate, and deeply personal. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, with prayer and faith at the center of the day, Sydney and Taylor exchanged vows in a setting that felt incredibly true to them. To keep things relaxed we created the timeline around pocketed portrait time giving the couple more time to enjoy with loved ones. 5-10 minute portraits scattered throughout each location to add variety into the gallery.

The courtyard quickly filled with drinks, conversation, and everyone catching up after the ceremony. Personal words of encouragement during the speeches, an incredible dinner, and a beautifully choreographed first dance made the transition into the reception feel completely effortless. This Colorado mountain wedding was never about spending hours taking photographs. It was about giving Sydney and Taylor space to experience their wedding while still documenting the people, places, and moments that made the day theirs.
