Never underestimate a Summer wedding in the Midwest. Couples who seek joy in surprises will definitely have their fair share of fun. Bobbi Jo and Mike’s proved to be just that.
Weddings at Aquaviva Winery never fail to have us in awe but seeing this venue shift throughout the seasons is always a joy. Summer, though, brings an otherworldly experience through lush foliage, greens and a richness in peak existence. We were welcomed with bright blue cloudy skies and warm temps that quickly picked up with moisture. The pace of the day was high with energy and excitement and we eagerly kept our eyes on the skies tracking incoming weather for the afternoon.
We navigated through darkening skies and wind gusts before calling on plan B for ceremony location from outside to indoors. One rule when it comes to weddings is that anything and everything can/will happen, pivoting is a super power. As much as we felt the heaviness diverting, the ceremony was felt and held by the couples loved ones. The best part was after a torrential downpour, tornado warnings a pause to see if we’d be barreling 100+ people into the basement, the skies reopened for an absolutely beautiful evening of golden hour portraits, group dances and a firework send off.
Having the right vendors will take a soured moment into an extraordinary experience.
