The St. Vrain in longmont is the kind of venue that does half the work for you, moody brick walls, warm light, that mix of vintage and industrial that somehow feels cozy instead of cold. it set the tone perfectly for two people who are equal parts lively and deeply intentional about the people they love.
one of my favorite parts of the whole day didn’t happen inside the venue at all. for family formals we took things outside to the park nearby and it turned into something i wasn’t fully prepared for. friends showed up and it was just, a love fest. genuinely. hugging everywhere, people so happy to be together, their dog Riley weaving through everyone completely unbothered and absolutely living her best life. nobody was stiff. nobody was waiting to be told where to stand. it was just people who love each other, together, on one of the best days of the year. that’s what happens when you stop treating formals like a military operation and just let people be with each other.
that’s actually what i want for every couple i work with. not perfectly spaced lines and forced smiles. just real connection documented honestly.
hannah and andrew made that easy. they’re the kind of people who pull you into their circle immediately and make you feel like you’ve known them forever. you could feel it in every room, the way their friends gravitated toward them, the way they looked at each other, the way they were just so genuinely having the time of their lives. best friends who decided to make it official. you could feel that in every single frame.
the night closed out the way it deserved to, a proper countdown, kiss as the clock clicked to 0 and sparklers at midnight, a new year starting exactly the way you’d want it to, surrounded by every person who matters most.
